LA has been going through some mood swings but this weekend we finally got a glimpse of Fall weather. We can all start putting on layers of prints, colors, and like the song its sweater weather. During the Fall season my favorite piece to wear is sweaters and you definitely can’t forget about leggings. To tie together Fall outfits you must have boots! To give your outfit a bit of a Winter factor you can add leg warmers. I don’t know about everyone else but I am deathly afraid of the cold so you won’t see me without a scarf when I am out and about. I believe that by wearing a scarf during the cold seasons it keeps you from getting sick. <--FACT UPDATE: Like I promised, I will be showing you all my world of going to BCBG MaxAzria Corporate working as a Textile Design Intern. I was able to receive my first project working on a print that will be shown in the 7/30 Collection for Spring/Summer. Inside look of the office:
Saturday was a very chill and relaxing day of just bumming it. I had a craving for Korean BBQ, literally woke up and the first thing that popped into my mind was “I want KBBQ”. Alex looked at me like I was crazy… I can’t help it, I’m a big fatty at heart! We went to this place called Bud Namu in K-town on 8th and Ardmore. The price was $9.99 for Lunch and $10.99 for Dinner. Such a great deal, no wonder the place was fully packed. The meat was great for the price and the steamed egg oh god it was bomb! But before I knew it Alex pretty much ate all of it… If you guys decide to go there, tell them to give you smaller portions of meat if you want to try all the selections that they offer. My favorite was the Beef Belly!
On Sunday, we stayed indoors and again bummed it. Besides bumming around we also went food shopping! I love food shopping! I have a lot of dishes I can’t wait to show you all this week. I had a late night craving for cake. But I didn’t have all the ingredients to make one so I ended up making chocolate cookies with white chips. Surprisingly, it was fluffy like a cake. STATUS: Craving Satisfied!
Since I didn’t get to go out this weekend, I decided to dress up today! I have put together three outfits using my army jacket and floral leggings as my base.
Casual = PLAID!
I have paired my army jacket and floral leggings with a plaid button up. To keep this outfit casual, wear converses and add a neutral bag. You can accessorize with gold or silver or even both. Who said you can’t mix gold and silver?
Business Casual = SWEATERS!
Sweaters are the type of clothing that can be dressed up or down. They can be used to play the middle ground between casual and fancy. I wanted to keep this outfit more casual, I paired it with converses but if you want to keep it a more fancy pair it with heel boots. Accessorize with a necklace. I recommend if your sweater has a round neck, go for a longer necklace to elongate the look of your neck and torso. If you have a V-neck choose a necklace that is shorter and seats on you neck/collarbone. I didn’t want this outfit to be too casual, so I finalized it with a black studded clutch.
Fancy = WHITE & SHEER!
For me, white is such a statement piece all on its own. It can turn a casual outfit into a classy one. Here I chose a white, sheer high-low long sleeve tee paired with a necklace, some simple gold accessories and one fashion statement ring. To bring it all together, I styled it with my white booties and royal blue purse. Don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold!
I want you all to understand that you shouldn’t be afraid of mixing, whether if it’s color, prints or accessories. Fashion is where we each can present our own unique style!
Now can you guys guess which outfit I choose for this rainy weather?
Was it casual?
Was it business casual?
Or was it fancy?
Let’s find out…
It’s not casual.
It’s not fancy.
Then it must be… BUSINESS CASUAL! Monday isn’t casual but its not fancy either, which is why I picked outfit number 2. Plus it was rainy and it felt like sweater weather.
Thanks everyone! Stay warm and stay tuned for my next post!
