It’s been way to long since I last did a foodie post! Recently, my lovely friend Linh and I checked out this place called Gracias Madre for some vegan mexican cuisine. Yup, you heard me VEGAN. I know it might sound a little crazy but it was absolutely delicious. We were both stuffed from the dishes we ordered, who would have thought you can get full from just veggies? Well, you totally can! The restaurant is located in West Hollywood on Melrose Ave and parking was super easy to find.
We sat outside since there were heaters and we both love the outdoor experience. Plus we live in LA so the weather made it that much better to be outside.
They had fresh juices made to order, I believe I ordered the Pineapple Guava and it was delicious! I am not fond of bitter tasting juice so it was perfectly sweet but not overly sweet, I guess I should say it was naturally sweetened.
We ordered some homemade guacamole with fresh baked chips, this was one of our favorite dish. It was a bit lemony but as we ate it with the chips it was a great balance of flavor.
Here we have the Gorditas, which is mash potato cakes topped with warm salsa verde, avocado, and cashew cream.
For our entree we had the El Plato, which had a some of everything. Butternut squash, cashew nacho cheese, plantains, cilantro pesto, escabeche, rice, pico de gallo and beans. This was a great dish to try since it was our first time there.
Stay tuned for more foodie posts! I will be posting a mix of everything so look forward to the next post. You can follow me on instagram @divenireme for sneak peeks and more!
