Here in LA, there is a magical place called the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I call it magical because they have everything from flower crowns to furnitures. I went recently, which was the month of March, since they only do this once a month.
We woke up early in the morning and arrived at the flea market at 9am and boy was it packed! I believe the entrance fee was $8 dollars, but if you arrive there earlier like around 7am the tickets are $12 dollars. The reason for that is to be able to get first dips on the items in the market.
They had many vintage items that I absolutely loved. There were many vendors that sold different things some more vintage than others. There were even pop up vendors that sold their own products.
At the flea market there were literally piles of denim shorts that were being sold for $5 dollars. If you wanted a pair of denim shorts, you had to dig for them! But it was part of the whole experience of being at the flea market.
I was on the lookout for some vintage bags to add to my closet. There were so many bags, but it was much easier to look for than denim shorts. I saw this one black leather backpack, thinking I could come back for it and when I did it was GONE! Note to self: NEVER WAIT WHEN IT COMES TO THE FLEA MARKET!
Here is what I wore to the flea market:
It’s best to wear a light dress that way you can try on the shorts. There are no fitting rooms, but they allow you to try them on. The flower crown I’m wearing is one of the many pieces that I found. The cognac bag is also something I found at the flea market. Love how simple and vintage it looked! Oh, don’t forget to bring a light, either a kimono or cardigan to keep you warm in the morning. Another thing is to bring a big bag with you so you can fill it up with goodies and lug it home!
