The weather in Los Angeles has been pretty chilly, but I miss summer already! The best thing to do is bring summer back into this fall breeze. I didn’t do much on Saturday besides being lazy, cuddled up in my warm bed browsing the Internet. On Sunday, Alex and I went on an adventure hunting for a dress. I am currently working on a project with FIDM Fashion Club on revamping thrifted dresses into a modern day prom dress. Each dress will be inspired by a celebrity and I picked Emma Stone. Our first stop was to a shop called Lemon Frog, a vintage boutique. We didn’t have any luck finding a dress, but right when we walked out I decided to browse through the racks that were in front of the store and to my surprise we were able to find a dress! The dress was a silver emerald green dress, it was just the color I was looking for. To my surprise the cost was only $16 for a rayon fabricated dress. Such a steal! I also found a gold watch that had a dainty vintage look. I won’t be showing you the dress I found, since I still want it to be a surprise. I will create a post on the transformation of the dress. After finding the dress we were both hungry and I had the weirdest craving for Dim Sum. We arrived at a Dim Sum restaurant called Capital Seafood on Garvey Ave in Monterey Park. Luckily, we were able to still have dim sum at 2:54pm, they end at 3pm. Chicken Feet, Spare Ribs, and Rice wrapped in Banana Leaf! Delicious, this is how it looks inside the leaf! I think we ordered a bit too much… Here we have Shu Mai, Ha Gow and Cha Siu Bao!
Someone loves their chili sauce! Sunday was a really nice day with a light breeze, so I decided to bring out spring/summer colors mixed into fall. I am wearing a brown leather jacket from Forever 21, a green vest top from Mine, and a coral maxi skirt from Armani Exchange. Paired with my Jeffrey Campbell Spiked sandals. I accessorized my outfit with my MK royal blue purse, with misc of bracelets that include my Tiffany bracelet, and the vintage gold watch from Lemon Frog. You can also add some sunnies, mine are from Urban Outfitters, which had a more spring/summer touch. And lastly, here is my makeup look! I kept it natural with shades of brown from the Naked 2 palette. I hope everyone had a great weekend! It’s once again Monday, here is my outfit. There’s something about Monday’s, it’s not a day for dressing up or getting all dolled up but adding a bit of pop wouldn’t hurt. Today’s Monday outfit is tom-boy inspired look but to give it a twist I added a Stoplight Red lipstick from Wet n’ Wild. The sweater is my boyfriends from Nike, the plaid shirt is from Forever 21, the jeans are from GUESS and finished it with white Converses. There are two ways you can style your hair: 1) You can let it down for a more feminine touch. -OR- 2) You can put it in a high ponytail for a more tom-boy punch.
Monday Tip: If you are sporting a casual look but don’t want to put in too much effort then add a bold lip color to still give your outfit a wow factor. Stay tuned for the next post! Follow me on instagram @x0apple !
