Warming Up to a New Year

The year 2014 is right around the corner and the weather in New York hasn’t been party dress friendly. But no matter if you are from the East or West Coast these three outfits that I have styled will be a great way to start the New Year! I had the pleasure of doing a collaboration with QQ Han, who are the sweetest twins I’ve ever met. Do check out their amazing DIY’s from tops to bottoms and even dresses and let’s not forget the statement pieces like clutches and necklaces! This time QQ Han designed a wonderful dress out of a twill fabric that has gold stitching within the bold coral twill fabric. A perfect choice of fabric and color to bring in the New Year.

Here are three ways you can style this beautiful A-Flared Dress or any other dress that you have right in your closet:

Outfit #1: This combination is perfect for going out on a formal dinner or on a cute date with the lover. I paired the dress with one of QQ Han’s DIY lace blouse and their Alexander McQueen inspired De Manta Clutch. Lastly, I added a cute simple pointed heels and a gold statement ring. This outfit gives off a more sexy but lovely appeal.

Outfit #2: Love oversized sweaters? Then this is the best coordination for you! This was put together for a comfy and fun outing with friends to go to dinner and to hangout. The dress was paired with a soft turtleneck cable sweater to give it a sweet girl feel. Styled with brown thigh-high boots. I accessorized it with a white daisy necklace, some simple rings and a black chain purse. I wanted to create a playful, sweet and casual look.

Outfit #3: Here we have an outfit that works for all occasions whether its going over to a family gathering to a night out at a bar. We paired the dress with a silver cropped sweater with black stockings and black/gold/beige wedges. This will give an illusion of longer and thinner legs. Now top it all off with a chunky pearl necklace, a few bangles and why not a gold clutch. This Valentino Rockstud inspired DIY clutch is a perfect way to bring out the gold tones in the dress. This overall look gives a classy, not trashy style into a new start for 2014.
